Nothing wrong with that, especially when you're nerdy about cool things.

Just a quick note for those who may find this during a search...

With Carlini Lowdowns and LA Choppers solid riser bushings, the stock length riser bolts are 1/4 - 3/8 too long depending on the number of washers used. The integrated risers on the Lowdown are blind holes and the bolt bottoms out. I just cut 3/8 off the end of my ARP 2.750" long bolts. That works fine with no washers.

I was thinking the same thing about adding a longer bolt for a better hold. I sometimes wish I still had access to a mill and a lathe, then I could make some clamps like the one I drew up below. They would allow me to both add the shield mounting bolts from the outside and allow me to total remove the clamps without having to pull the legs out of the trees.

Anyways, I didn't mean to get off topic of your mod thread. Now back to the regular scheduled broadcast.

Well, dammit. I was wondering where this bucket was so I checked tracking and it's still in mainland China. Ordered it from Amazon and didn't even think to check the seller. Sumbitch. I Went ahead and ordered the Dime City Cycles version just to keep things moving. Not feeling waiting a month for a test bucket.

Really, What do have to do (in your state) that month is too long?

It's the little things. Researching and purchasing makes me feel like I'm doing ~something~. The weather is breaking and I'm getting stronger. Won't be much longer before I can get out to the garage and start making a mess.

I started up the lathe for first time in...I dunno...many months and cut the ends off some bolts the other night. Makes me feel sick to my stomach to think how simple that used to be and how now it's literally painful and awkward to adjust things and change out cutting tools and such. I'll get there eventually...though some things will remain out of reach forever. No more 130 lb-ft cranking without ridiculously long cheater bars.
