Do the heat shields first, just loosely. Install the pipes. Then snug up the heat shields. If you tighten them to much you'll break the hose clamps. I've replaced a bunch of hose clamps in my years of owning my big shots. The big shots are known for breaking the mounts on the heat shields. So if you hear a weird vibration check there.

I'm going to go the opposite way; put the pipes on first. Once done and the pipes are properly aligned and exhaust bolts torqued, put on the heat shields, it's the final thing you do. I've never broken a heat shield clamp on any of my 3 Big Shots Staggered installs... ever... didn't know that was actually even a thing that happens

Read the instructions ... there is a preferred method from what I recall to do first which makes it easier.

Do you have club fingers or are you nimble?
Are you going to use a nut driver or a small socket and ratchet?
I bought mine second hand and the heat shields where already on, I just installed them like they came no problem.
I did move'm around a bit and because they where already used the clamps didn't work as smoothly as new ones.
Big tip:
Don't just tighten the flange nuts,, there is a torque sequence,, and don't over-tighten, those gaskets are made for a mild crush fit, too tight and you'll have a leak, follow the book like this;
7. Tighten flange nuts (35), at front cylinder studs as follows:
a. Install lower nut and tighten finger tight.
b. Install upper nut and tighten to 9-18 in-lbs (1-2 Nm).
c. Tighten lower nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm).
d. Tighten upper nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm).

8. Tighten flange nuts at rear cylinder studs as follows:
a. Install upper nut and tighten finger tight.
b. Install lower nut and tighten to 9-18 in-lbs (1-2 Nm).
c. Tighten upper nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm).
d. Tighten lower nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm).
It's a good idea to get all four nuts started and the pipes close to position before you begin the torque process.
