I must be missing something. I just don't get the point of riding a motorcycle that keeps you out of the wind, corners like a truck...
Go ride a '15 or '16 Touring bike, and then get back to us on the handling. It will go around curves faster than you're capable of riding it. Trust me on this one.

Yea, but you still have that coffee table sized monstrosity hanging over your front wheel!! That thing looks like the dashboard out of a '68 Rambler I used to own!

Smaller than the hood on your car. How much does the hood on your car bother you?
I did NOT want a bike with a fairing, I wanted a Road King. I talked to three ex-professional riders, and all three told me that if I really like to "ride", get a Road Glide. I told them: "I don't think I can get used to that fairing. I had smaller desks when I was in high school". One guy told me: "I promise, one week, and you won't even know it's there".

I currently ride a Dyna and the reason for riding one was I was getting back on two wheels and didn't have the funds for a more comfortable bike because my daughter was in college. She graduated this weekend so maybe I can start looking for a touring model. I can't ride the Dyna to work because I have too much stuff to carry (water jug, goggles, gloves, coveralls, lunch). I would love a fairing because I'm having neck and upper back pain and the wind doesn't help....... plus I'm in my 50s. I guarantee there are more people riding Dynas on here that would rather have a Street Glide but are limited by funds
Like others have said, it is more than likely that Dynas ARE popular and fly out the door faster than the others.
Right now if you look at the custom scene (new bikes, not vintage) there are two trends, the big-wheel bagger and the "performance" Dyna. The whole SOA fad has pushed the popularity of the performance/thug/club look, so there has been a huge growth in suspension and brake upgrades for the Dynas, and even the MoCo has taken notice, hence the LowRider S that looks like it could have rolled off the SOA set.
So, chances are you aren't seeing them because the dealerships can't keep them.
