The dealership you were that only had 6 Dynas on the floor had sold all the rest and is now down to 6. Dynas rule. Only bike line that HD makes that I am interested. No baggers or slop tails for me.

There are people that buy MOTORCYCLES, and there are people that buy whatever's popular at the moment (black StreetGlide).

That's not a fairing! That's a mini-loveseat. I'm surprised you didn't have to get a "building permit" for it!

OK.....OK..........I'm sorry.
What can I tell ya! I'm a Star Trek fan. The dash reminds me of the control console on the Enterprise.

People buy the touring bikes for two, and only two reasons:
They're afraid that a less bulky bike might be mistaken for a Sportster, by soccer moms.
They're gullible, and let the dealer talk them in to buying a bike that has bigger profit margins.

I'm sure they stock what tends to sell. Based on that, is the Dyna just unpopular here or is this typical? My normal two dealerships usually ony have a dozen or bikes on hand and they are usually equally represented.

And what's the damn deal with HD dealerships and helmets? Why can't I find one with non-HD helmets? I have a hard to fit skull (narrow) and would like to try on some Arais or Shoeis or pretty much anything other than Harley brand. I guess I need to start looking at other brand dealers
Depends on where you live. Here in CA Dynas are where it's at. And Road Glides. Heck, people are getting $12k-$15k for nice used FXDX's!! Crazy.

Other places, not so much. It's funny how regional bike tastes can be.

Traded my WG off last year for a trike when I thought my knees were shot. Even then it had to be the Freewheeler, couldn't stand the Triglide. Decided to take a chance this year and found a nice used WG for a second bike. Knees are holding up so far. It's my every day local ride, the trike only comes out for days over 200 miles.

May not be many new Dynas sold 'cos the bagger boys will have a newer bagger and older used Dyna in the garage. I know if I am blessed enough to make it that far, I might have to replace the trike with a new one someday, but unless it gets taken out by a cager I'll never replace the WG. The dealer doesn't need to stock any new Dynas for me.

When I was young and dumb, three of us went to Canada for a week. Everything we needed was rolled up in our sleeping bags, and tied to the sissy bars. People don't travel that way anymore.

I bought a trike due to health reasons. What I think about them, and bikes in general, is in my sig line...

I would love a fairing because I'm having neck and upper back pain and the wind doesn't help....... plus I'm in my 50s. I guarantee there are more people riding Dynas on here that would rather have a Street Glide but are limited by funds

I'm in my 50's too and I'm at a point in my life I could afford any bike I want... and I want my Wide Glide I want the wind in my face, I want to feel that 103" pulsing under me; if I don't hear 'Born to Be Wild' when I'm riding it I've got the wrong bike. To me motorcycling is a visceral, near primal thing; if comfort is the goal I'll take the SUV. Heated leather seats, fantastic sound system, navigation, all the creature comforts; motorcycling is something else, a reconnection to the basic elements of man and machine...

Wind in my hair –
Shifting and drifting –
Mechanical music
Adrenalin surge –

Well-weathered leather
Hot metal and oil
The scented country air
Sunlight on chrome
The blur of the landscape
Every nerve aware...
