Oil Quantity Question?

I have 21 H-D's in the garage and run them 30 to 40+K a year. Never had excessive oil into the breather from TC 88's to 120's.
By the way when the oil is at running temp and the dipstick reads right at the full mark it is NOT overfull. Ask any H-D engineer. That is one of the dumber comments that I have read on the internet!

Let's not forget these motors have a sump and there's at least a half to 3/4 quart of oil that doesn't drain out. Add that to the 1.75 qts and your right where you need to be. Some people scavenge the sump to clean out the remaining dirty oil. Me, after I drain out the 1.75 qts, I fill it with 2 qts oil, idle it for 3-4 minutes then drain it again. This allow the clean oil to purge the sump'd oil. Then I fill it to the correct level on the dipstick and I'm done. It's the same method the ol' school mechanics used to use to flush transmissions in the past. I refer to it as my 'Sump flush' oil change.
