Hello, I have a 2004 super glide and I am wanting to install a after market tachometer. I know go out and bye the $300 one from HD and it is plug and play. Well I don't have $300 and my bike has never in it's life time had a tachometer. There is no pink wire for the tachometer signal. Trust me, I tore the bike apart today and there is no pink wire in the HD wiring harness on a 2004. My question is, where is the signal wire? There has to be one, or did HD intentially build a bike you cant put a tach on? Please any one who knows for sure what wire it is I am looking for please if possiable send me pictures and location. I looked at a 2003 HD book and the fuse box and main harness are completely different. I am about ready to say the heck with it and just give up but I am teaching my daughter to ride it and this is the only way I know how to teach her how to change gears,. Thank you ahead of time.
Well I was joking when I said did HD build a bike that was impossible to put a tachometer on it but I see what you are saying about the harness. I see what you mean about the LGN/V wire. there has got to be at least one person on this forum and knows how to install one on the 2004. He or she is just sitting back thinking I cant believe these guys don't know all you have to do is connect the signal wire ????? and heck the thing will work. I wont give up yet, maybe someone will chime in a say gah man, all you do is hook it here and it will work.
