Wise, nice dx. Can you do me a favor and meassure the.lenth of the fork sliders, and over all length of the tubes slider with them hanging
. As well as from the rear of the swing arm to the center lower shock mount. And from the forward control lower mounting hole to the ground with the bike sitting up right. Then a angle finder to the front tubes, and swing arm with the bike sitting up right.
got the dx rear shocks, 3rd click preload and 3rd on rebound seem to feel best to me.
curious, what your weight and settings are.
. Before throwing the t bars on mine, hoping to slow me down a bit and a little more comfy sitting postion our bikes are similar in apperance. Sorta like a negative to say.
. minus the sport front end,
wanted a dx to start with, but came on a deal of what I got,and couldn't justify the price they were going for at a point.
You got the wrong bike. Go get a sportbike. That's why I have both.
no matter how much u dump into suspension mods, the bike will still handle like a fat pig compared to even the shittiest sportbike on the market due to weight. It's like taking a suv around twisties....u can only do so much since you will always be restricted by weight, rake and profile.
You might be able to gain a little by offsetting your driver weight more to the inside of the turn. But grounding hard parts doesn't leave you much wiggle room if you need to change or correct your line. The more weight you put on the primary, the less there is on the tires, and a small correction could easily unload the tires enough that they are no longer there for you.
You've got to hang off the bike pretty far if you want to go really fast. The primary just sticks out too far on these bikes.
See 2:14 in the video below:
I know it will never handle like a sport bike, pontoon boat full of fat chicks vs a v hull and a tweaker to say. But dam it,a sport bike I know.ill end up like a junkie that actually got what they paid for.
I lean in to the corners, try to counter steer little as possible to not push the bike down. And one butt chekk on the seat, knee kicked out. Not as extreme as dude dragging a knee.
. thinking I need to make a landing pad thing and try getting my rocks off on some wheelies. Lol.
Yeah, wide glide tubes would make a lot of difference. The dude in that youtube video was running +4" front end at one point on one of his bikes... he's been through a few.
