+1 on the HD floorboard kit. No, it won't work with the lame stock exhaust on the Fat Bob or Wide Glide. I went with the stock Street Bob exhaust, and the kit is a super easy DIY project. So much better with the floorboards!
smog, If I choose to go that route now or down the line, I will refer back here so I appreciate your help.
perki, thanks for the offer I will keep that in mind.
It is so frustrating to think nobody has made a bracket that can swing around the pipes. At this point i am closer to buying the HD floorboard kit and simply fabricated whatever adapter piece necessary to make them fit around the pipe. I need to get rid of my pegs now because I hate them so much and dont have the cash at the moment to throw at new pipes.
sparkalot, its nice to hear a different review on the mini's. My main goal is to relieve the tension on my legs while riding. When I start getting up to highway speeds I either have to flex my legs to stay on the pegs, or contort my feet to wedge them in place. Both are SUPER uncomfortable and make riding miserable. With the mini's, are you able to fully relax your legs and simply just ride?
Just had a last minute thought, you could also try and find a reduced seat for the Fatbob, that would bring you 2 inches closer to the forwards and help a lot.

My inseam is 32, and I am 6 foot tall. The Mini Floorboards are very comfortable, at least to me. When I am in riding /cruising position, my legs can stretch out as much as I want. When I bought the bike it had mid controls with ISO pegs, highway pegs mounted up front, and a different seat. The high way pegs gave a little relief but for around town not used much. That set up gave me thigh/leg cramps and my big feet (15s) kept getting tangled and caught in the controls. Scary when it was time to stop. I changed to forward controls, and changed the seat. Big improvement but I jusr personally do not like pegs. My feet feel like they are going to slip off the pegs. So the last piece of the puzzle was the Mini Floorboards. The angle is adjustable. I think there are peg extenders available to get an even furthur extension, but I do not need them. So I am happy with them, yes. My attitude when I bought them was I could always sell them if I did not like them. I knew I HAD to have Mid Controls, and from there it was a matter of which pegs/boards to use. Once I got the bike to fit me, what a difference! Feels like I am sitting in a recliner chair ha ha The handlebars can make a difference in riding comfort too as you probably know. Mine came with the bars it has and they work for me.

I appreciate the suggestion. From what I see, these footboards will have the same issue with the FXDF as the rest of them have. check google images of 2009 fxdf, or just look at the pictures in my original post.
the pipes are basically covering the rear mounting location and would require the bracket to swing under the pipe more than usual.
Do whatever you need to do to mount the FLD footboard kit. Either space the right side 'board out to clear your exhaust or score a stock header & heat shield for cheap, used.
Trust me, it will be worth every penny. Hands down, the best thing I've done to my Super Glide.

I like my mini boards alot but I am wondering how many Custom Adapter Brackets I could sell....to accomplish what sandro__s@hotmail.com is wanting to do. I have a metal shop and CNC design and fabrication capability I custom design brackets for off road and car guys regularly. Sandro can you PM me, maybe I could make a simple prototype. But I will probably keep my mini floor boards...
