Smile Wider front tire

I would like a wider front tire on my 2013 Dyna street bob.
At present I have a 100/90B/19
Could I place a 120 /90/19 on the existing cast rim. And if so, does Michelin have one.
Would appreciate some help.
Thanks,
Roger

Apparently Roger didn't get a "go buy 'this' tire, mount the tire on your rim" kind of response on that thread.

Roger, it would easy enough to go search to see who makes a tire of that size. If nobody does... then that answers you well enough. Taking 30 seconds to look a bike tire online store says that Michelin does not make that exact tire... they do make a 110/90-19, (as do most tire Mfg) which would mount right up.

As for what can be done to done.. Blueangel said it, in your other post... you're going to need a new wheel, or rim.

I mounted am Avon 110 on my front rim. It fits, but anything bigger would probably need another wheel. It's still a significant change in size and profile from the stocker. Don't know about Michelins, but you can compare dimensions from their size charts.

Nevil,
Thank you. Thats the advise I wanted. I probably should have worded my posts a little better to indicate experience. My aftermarket dealer had indicated that I could even use a 120, but I wanted further advise from those who tried.

I also appreciate Archers post. The profie he suggest is the same as OEM. I checked the web site several times before my first post and previously when replaceing my rear, but still wanted more experieced advise before I committ.

On my rear I now have a lower profile Michelin tire 180/55/17 ZR and it seems fine. It does have a fine grouve down the middle, but after a couple thousand miles its worn enought down to be quite good on gouved roads( only one 8 mile stretch) . Its more rounded than the Schorcher or Commander, which gives it even a larger appearance.

Roger

Hope I didn't come across as an *** Roger... I was close I think .. .

If you check your other thread, I did mention that I thought the 110 was about your limit for staying with your current rims

I put an Avon Cobra 110/90x19 on the front of 4 Street Bob's.
At 4.7 inches, it is the widest tire I could run on my stock rim.

As archer mentioned a quick search on the interwebs will provide you with an answer. According to motorcycle super store, the best you're going to do is a 120/70-19 or a 130/60-19, but with either tire you're more more than likely going to need at least a 3" wide hoop, your stock one isn't going to cut it.

I'm running a 110 /90 -19 on a 2.15 x 19 rim . Handles better than ever, just tweaked front fender a bit and made slots in it instead of just holes.
