I have an '07 Dyna. My local wrench who has some 06 and 07 Dyna experience told me that he has seen AFRs stay good on these bikes if you only change the exhaust side of things. I found some old screaming eagle mufflers at the right price and put them on and all seems good. I'm still completely OEM on the air box side. The SE mufflers are taper downs like my stock mufflers but much smaller in diameter. They say screaming eagle on one (the top one) muffler and have the usual "closed course only" warning stamped into them but I don't know anything else about the year they were offered. The sound is very deep and not too loud so I like that. Seat of the pants says I picked up some low end grunt for sure plus my bike likes 6th gear and short shifting it much better now. My performance goals have been met, I'm very happy now! No extra heat so far either. I was getting 40-50 mpg before but I only have 50 miles on these so far so I can't report on mileage but surely it will stay the same since it was a muffler only change. BTW these do in fact look like the Cycle Shack taper down mufflers (based on the online and JP cycles catalog pictures) and many have said that early SE mufflers were made by Cycle Shack so if you like my report these may be the same mufflers as you can still buy from Cycle Shack. My cost for the used SE mufflers $50.00 total!

If you found the pre July2006 slip-on's, they are SE II's. They are NOT SE's. BIG, a very BIG difference between the two!!!!! Do you have a part # for the one's you bought? I can tell ya what you have or don't have. Tim

wierd, i was going to start a post about this same thing, someone gave me a set today ,they say the same thing on them ,screaming eagle II ,but they are not tapered, they are angle cut on the ends.i was going to see if anyone has put these on and what expierence y'all have had with them i was also just going to put the mufflers on and not change anything else for nowany input will be appreciated.
Here's an update. First, mine just say "Screaming Eagle" NOT "Screaming Eagle II" so I think mine are older versions. Mine are very small OD taper down style, not much larger in diameter than the heat shield on the head pipe leading up to them. THE SOUND... very deep and rumbly, not too obnoxious very nice sound (everyone who has heard the bike before and after has has exactly the same comment "finally sounds like a Harley not a Honda now"). THE RESULTS... no cackling no backfiring, no extra heat from the bike (none that I can tell) remember I am running the stock '07 airbox and filter plus no fuel mods at all (no SERT or any other type of remap). I have not yet checked my plugs but will soon. Fuel mileage seems the same. SEAT-O-THE PANTS... mo power, mo torque. I can use 6th gear more easily now and I am short shifting the bike more often now. Throttle pulls "from the basement" are much easier now. MY REVIEW... get ya some, if you can find-em.
P.S. Correction, I did in fact have the free "torque smoothing" download/remap while I was still running the stock mufflers.
dont know if my stealer offers that download have to check in to it ,put my se II's on yesterday they sound a lot better than th stocks deeper rumble but not too loud, seemed as though it ran better, made the miss i have had for a few weeks on low end more pronounced ,i guess i could actually hear it more as well as feel it.
