I have a 2010 Superglide custom and I want to make the swap to a Fatbob front end for the better handling and the dual disc. I have a few questions.
1. What all exactly do I need?
2.will I need to swap front fenders?
3. Will the rear wheel and tire fit
There are various substitutions you can make to the recipe so it depends on what you already have and what you want to end up with.
There are several of us that have done dual disc conversions and I think we've all done it differently for our own reasons.
My biggest reason is for the brakes but I also really like the handling on the fatbob. I don't really have anything right now besides my stock front end
As I understand it, a lot of the handling comes from the reduced rake.
That means you'll want the Fat Bob triple trees.
After that, you need to think about wheels. If you like the FB wheels (I don't) then you'll need the FB wheel(s), spacers, lowers, master cylinder, brake lines, caliper, rotor, hardware, fender, etc.
If you don't want the Fat Bob wheel, the Low Rider lowers can be substituted and then (I believe) any dual disc wide glide wheel can be fit.
There's also the V-Rod parts that can be used and many say are superior. I don't know much about that, tho. My understanding is the lowers and Brembo calipers bolt right up to any dual disc touring-style (wide) hub.
