In the last pic, Is that a rag rolled up and zip-tied to your frame?
LOL. Yes. It was protecting the O2 sensor. That is an older pic right before getting the custom exhaust by Fab28 made up and when the motor was still a 117.
Great write up and thanks for sharing! My 117 w SE259 cams did 120/126 with bassani pipe. Legends front and rear-I don't feel like it has any wet noodle to it at any speeds. Feels like its on rails. I know what you mean about spending gobs of $$ to squeak out an additional 5 hp, lol. My goal was to do things on a budget on this bike as the starting platform was so good already. As you know that can go out the window quick. I felt the 117 kit with cams is a great bang for buck upgrade, as were legends. For my riding it is more than enough. Bike pulls in every gear, hard. I have heard from several people, who have gone through the process of upgrading the crank with dark horse and such, how important it is, how the stock internals can't handle much beyond a stage 1 or 2. However I rip on my stage 4 117 with stock internals and zero problems yet. Granted I am not dropping the clutch drag racing or popping wheelies but I certainly get on it in the canyons/mountains in Colorado.
When are the Lyndall Wheels and rotors going on? 😂

LOL. It's funny that you say that. Another member was PMing me, and I added up the next stage of upgrades. I was thinking under $10K, but with CF wheels, aluminum swing arm, rotors, calipers, and misc, it up there around $11K+. It's coming...
Does that windshield really help? I had a laminar lip on mine but i dont think its as tall as that one is. It definetely helped but I havent put it back on since mine got painted.

Altered Industries has it in 14" and 16" heights, the one on my bike is 16". I really can't tell the difference between the stock one and the new one with a full face. That fairing mostly keeps the wind off my chest and keeps my full face helmet stable. What I do like is not having to clean the bugs off the speedo/tach and the support bracket. It was a pain sometimes getting into the crevices.

Sounds like its not worth upgrading over the Laminar Lip. Thanks man!
Second, the drag chain was stretching excessively. In talking with RC, they were experiencing the same thing with a couple of other customer's bikes. A once "good" chain appears to be manufactured differently now and it not holding up. Ron got a different chain, and it goes nicely with the theme of the bike.
Lastly, the location of the external breather filter was leaving an oily residue on the transmission and surrounding parts, so it got moved to under the bike.
It will get moved one more time. I'll make a bracket and move it to a location where it can't be damaged when I'm jumping curbs.
