This puppy is loud. It hurts your ears when you're standing next to it idling, and you blip the throttle.
Big thanks to Ron at RC Cycles. He took the time to modify the muffler, and then cut 1 inch at a time, dyno'ed it, re-tested, and cut until he made the best power.

Fourth, I wanted to update on the drivability and throttle response with the increase of compression and exhaust work. Besides the loudness, it is like a stock motor. All the surging and getting on the cam feeling is gone. The motor is happy at 2,400 rpm, and cruises without complaint at that rpm. You can leave the lights easy, and the motor is not telling you it wants to go faster. I have been finding myself just driving "normal", without revving it up going thru the gears. Before with the Fab28 muffler, it felt like a race bike. Below 3,000 rpm and it wasn't happy. That been said, you turn the throttle all the way, the acceleration is violent. 120 is now, no slowly creeping up. The other day I cruised with my son to my other son's house. He has a stock 2020 Low Rider S. We were cruising about 90, and he told me when I would punch it (we where on a 2 lane road) to pass, he would downshift to 5th and I would be walking away from him. I wasn't downshifting.
Truth be told, the motor now is way more than what the frame/suspension can handle. The motor can pull the bike to extremely fast to speeds where the bike will wobble. The high speed acceleration is where the power really shows up. This much power is not required if you don't want to be exceeding 100 mph. Even the 135 hp got me to 120 very quickly.
Just swingarm, wheels, and brakes to go, and the bike will finally be finished, maybe.....
Seems like everybody gets bit by those factory flywheels. It's almost stupid to do anything beyond stage 1 without a new flywheel.
It really depends. The Stage 4 kit installed by Harley may have survived, but the increased compression, increased redline, and riding it hard, the connecting rod tapered small end did not like it. You are correct though, at minimum, sending the crank to Darkhorse, getting the crank prepped properly, and their upgraded connecting rods would go a long way ensuring no issues with the bottom end.
I'm late to the party, but, WOW!!! AWESOME detailed write-up. Thanks for taking the time to do all of that. 1) the bike looks amazing. In every aspect. 2) I can't imagine how that much power feels. My Fat Bob makes 71/91, and it still surprises me. Yours makes DOUBLE that. The people that did the work on this, definitely deserve a round of applause. Did you wind up tracking it yet at all since your crash and injuries, or are you still dealing with all of that? Hopefully not and you healed up properly.
They were looking like dark bronze from all the brake dust, lol.
Put on the the Altered Industries 16" tinted recurve windshield:
I like how it barely covers the gauges now, but...I liked the form over function look of the stock windshield:
COVID-19 has really been screwing up my mad money for this bike. Decided I am going to go ahead and install an automatic shifter. Leaning towards an air system. You can use small C02 tanks now. With a Shift Minder, watch out for lightning fast shifts at redline. I have lost a couple of light to lights due to shifting error. This motor rips thru the gears.
You can see the wheel color difference between the bottom two pics, lol.
