New 2017 FXDLS - Must Have Upgrades / Modifications?
So I pulled the trigger on a new 2017 FXDLS, which the dealer will be storing for me for the winter. I will be receiving 20% off parts and 15% off labor while in storage, so I figured I'd jump on a couple of 'must have upgrades / mods' while I can.
I've been out to the motorcycle world for the past 3 years, so I'd like your opinion on what you would do if you were in my position.
What are your 'must have upgrades / modifications'?
Thanks!

Just so I understand; you're going to do mods to the bike while it's in storage at the dealer? Part of the fun of the mods, beyond doing them yourself, is the before and after. Modding the bike before you even spend any time riding sort of takes the fun out of it, for me.
You'll have no basis for comparison, how can you appreciate what some of the mods bring to the table if you don't even know what it was before? Getting 20% off the already 40% overpriced dealer parts isn't much of a deal and I wouldn't let a dealer touch my bike, even for free. As Cvaria already posted, online is your friend. And spinning those wrenches yourself is priceless.
We can give you a list as long as your arm on all manner of mods, but take your time, ride the bike for a bit, and you'll get the feel for what you want; and you'll know the difference when you do the mods...

My "must have" is probably not the same as your "must have".
If it were MY bike I'd...
ditch the fairing
Drag bars
Paint it something other than black
BST wheels
Ohlins & Brembo front and rear
117+ engine build
Custom seat
Adaptive headlight and aftermarket signals
Titanium exhaust
Good tuner and tune
Chain drive conversion
General weight loss programme (CF fenders and covers, titanium bolts, aluminum swingarm, etc)
Front and rear stabilizers
Good tires
Etc....
A proper street weapon...
On second thought, I'd probably send it to Pete and tell him to go hog wild...no budget.

I chose to ride mine and learn it before changing much on it. Did the grips and foot pegs just for looks.
I put an audioable alarm on it, one of my favorite things.
After a 9 day Grand Tour trip this summer I found the seat to be a good one.
Power wise... one day a 117, chip and exhaust. Doesn't need it though, unless you get a good deal (like them throwing in the 117 for you) you can easily wait. The stock 110 is a lot of engine stock, it's why I wanted to learn it first.
Seat (so I can have a pillon), Chip and exhaust are next on my list.
