Engine Guard (done)...next foot pegs (feedback?)
I've been trying different kinds of freeway pegs, but none stick out far enough to be usable (knee hits air filter, etc.). Friends told me I need to break down and buy an engine guard, and that'll give all the flexibility needed to mount pegs with any of a variety of adapters.
So I went ahead and did it. Looked at the different engine guards, decided to go with plain chrome (not the mustache model). Rode a few hundred miles and I like it a lot. Goad I didn't go with black, or with the mustache model.
After putting my feet up against the bar on today's ride back on the highway, I think I know where to mount the foot pegs.

Any advice on any specific pegs or adapters?
I did need a .025" shim to mate up the footpeg to mount as the standard footpeg bowed washer was too thick for this setup.
Very happy with the end result!

We also have a good selection of Highway Peg Mounting Options.
Here's a photo of just one style, using this type of Mounting Hardware.

I liked the ISO pegs and ISO stirrups like those in the pics, but found they looked awkward sticking out so far (looked like outriggers). So I moved the ISO pegs to my main footpeg location to replace the stock footpegs and switched to the Joker Machine footpegs on the engine guard. The stirrups are in my spare parts bin. I think this set up looks much better.

For foot pegs with heel support, looks like I'll go with the Kuryakyn ISO-Peg Stirrups https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/429/iso-peg-stirrups since they match the Kuryakyn foot pegs I already have.
For mount, Harley Davidson's 360 Degree Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kit https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...-peg-mount-kit...
...sure looks a lot like Kuryakyn's Longhorn Offset Peg Mounts https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/49...set-peg-mounts. Maybe they're farming out the work.

I'll get these ordered and once they're installed I'll post before/after pics, in case it is helpful to anyone else.

I also like the stirrups on the pegs for highway bars, making them more like a floorboard, but I think they look better and are more "sporty". I've seen several on eBay for about $40/pair, with some as low as under $30/pair. They also have them all black, if you want to keep that blacked out look. I realize they're made in China or Indonesia, but pretty much everything is nowadays, so I don't see any reason to give the Moco so much MORE $ for the same thing.
