Thinking of changing to forward controls or Mid controls are they the same thing ? I'm interested in the Harley Davidson controls kit. I have changed my pegs already from the factory pegs. Will I be able to use my new pegs with the forward ( mid ) controls. ? Thank you for any info. Or recommendations you can give me. Jim
If your new pegs fit the stock controls then they should fit the new controls.
Forward controls are not the same as mid controls, hence the name difference. Not sure what you have, so maybe a pic would help. I thought the 09 LR came with forwards.
Your bike came with Full Mid Controls & also the Forward Foot Pegs/Mounts (highway pegs) correct?
Are you are asking if you can add the New Forward Shifter and Brake Levers and Retain the Stock Forward Foot Pegs/Mounts?

Thanks for the reply, yes it came with the highway pegs, that I already changed to a different style from the factory pegs. Thinking of changing to a New Forward shifter and brake lever. My question is do you keep the highway pegs in the same location or are they eliminated or changed because of the brake lever and shifter lever being more forward ? Thanks again ! Jim
Forward controls for your bike bolt on using the two bolts on each side that your current "highway" pegs now use,, the highway peg brackets come off.
The actual folding peg you have now can be used on the new forwards, most kits do not include the actual foot pegs. Your foot position will be close to the same they are now with the highways,, they're moved a little bit to accommodate the new linkage that comes with the various kits,, but basically the same place.
Forward control kits are available from many vendors.
I used the Kuryakyn 9063 (the 9064 is "extended" for tall folks), shop around,, I think I paid $360 at Dennis Kirk for mine,, easy bolt ,, a few hours on a Saturday afternoon and it was done. https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/220/forward-controls

Thank you very much ! I have a much better idea how it works and location. Thanks Again Jim
This is my 2009 Lowrider with the forward controls....hope the pic helps.
It looks like there is a piece of hardware between the Iso peg and support bar. Did you buy just the pegs with heel rest (part #8075) or additional hardware?
