Got a 2016 Cancun Street Bob purchased three weeks ago still under Factory warranty.until September. Had 155 miles on the odometer when I picked it up. Couple of weird things.
What looks like the original key doesn't work but there was a bronze key that does work I'm assuming one of the dealers lost the key and the bronze one was made in its place. I don't know what the original looking key is for. The dealer got this bike from auction and the car fax listed as dealer to auction to my dealer.
I can change the PIN no matter if I have the FOB or not. Also the security system doesn't activate I even pull the battery out the FOB. I don't get a no FOB any time on the display.

Don't you just love it when the deal is done and the dealer pats you on the *** and says good luck? Hope you have actually see the title. I was in the process of buying something like this sounds and since the bank had the loan, starting talking to them personally. They told me they had yet to receive the title and just realized it had been months ago that transaction was done.
I stopped off at my local DMV and gave them the VIN number. They put it in the system and it reported bike was stolen in SC over a year ago. I called the bank manager and told him. All I got from him was a deep crap and a click.

Perhaps the original owner hid a fob somewhere on the bike. You can't change the pin without an active fob present.
I searched high and low while partially disassembling easy to do stuff like the battery cover, battery and box. Removed seat, electronics box, gas tank console pulling all the wires and removed it. NO FOB FOUND!
Why are you messing with it under warranty....take it to a reputable dealer and have them sort it out.
I did that yesterday. Turns out that the bike doesn't have the Factory Security System installed. I found that weird as hell. I thought all bakes had that but, he checked the original build sheet, it's not there. Also what I find even weirder is the system allows me to change the PIN just like it says in the manual. I guess it's not standard equipment on a Street Bob.
