Knocking sound at all speeds/revs? Lifters will clatter/knock when they won't pump up. Then the valve on the lifter isn't working properly, opening all the way.

Why would you add 2 qts when it was half full? The twin cam only takes about 2.5 max at an oil change.

Better describe half-full... how did you come by that measurement?

I think you better drain your engine oil, and put just under 2.5qts back in it. It would be interesting to know just how much oil you drain out.

I have to wonder what all happens to an air cooled Big Twin run without oil...

Like I said...just R&R that bitch. It's been a lemon since forever anyway.
