Cruise controls will not engage

Guys I need your help! I have a 2016 fxdls and my cruise control will not engage. It turns on when I push the switch but it will not activate to hold speed. It did activate once and after that I can’t ever get it going again. I changed my handlebars a while back but didn’t really have an issue. Any tips or something I could look for? Thanks!

First two things i can think of that ive experienced woth cruise control not working would be the brake light switch and neutral safety switch. Two things to see is if your brake lights stay on when not engaged. Or for the neutral switch I can't remember but I think the bike wouldn't crank in gear, just neutral, when it went out on my road glide. That's the first easiest things to check and get ruled out.

I agree with Crying Joker. I had a 2009 RKC before the bike I have now, the rear brake light switch went bad once so the cruise control didn't work

So I have a 2002 Electra Glide classic did the hold set switch turn on cruise and switch on ignition as long as I hold set switch I have green C on speedometer let off set switch and green light goes out , and no cruis any ideas would be appreciated and thanks ahead of time

Check at the throttle body to make sure the end of the cable is set in the bracket properly. The cable that controls the CC that is. It has happened to me before.

the same thing happened on my 2016 LRS. It was the rear brake switch, it was stuck on all the time.

The front brake light switch is easily damaged if you are not paying attention , the service manual has a warning , showing a wedge being used to protect the switch any time the master cylinder is being removed ( when bars are being changed). See if your brake light is staying on , if so the small nub that is on the brake switch plunger is likely broken off. This is a very common problem to people that are not wise to the wedge in the brake lever trick.
