I did most of this myself this weekend. it's not difficult and like Thrillseeker said, it's good to get to know your bike. I still have to change the primary fluid and go buy a torque wrench today to finish it off, but it's a piece of cake for the most part. And i figure for what the dealer is charging, i'll have saved a ton of money and probably be a lot more thorough than they would have been. the service manual was a great investment.
My new dealer (just moved here bout a year ago) throws in the 1000 mile with purchase of a new bike, minus the cost of fluids. Otherwise I'd do it myself, I'll still double check everything after I get it home though.
