Yeah, here's my take, in a nut shell.

You've been dissatisfied with the bike for a long time because of vibrations. You've changed the motor mounts. You've gone to lots of different mechanics and it remained unresolved. Somewhere along the line you decided you needed a new crank. The new crank fixed the problem for about 15 minutes. Now the bike runs like $hit and the odometer doesn't work. There's also an oil leak and a mysterious white substance on the case.

Did I miss anything?

With such a sketchy picture, there's not much anyone can do to help.

Question

I'm no wrench, but wouldn't a bad crank sensor cause the same issue?

According to the "experts", no. Either the sensor is functioning properly or the bike won't run. Black or white.
