Trial and error.
When i first fitted it i had it set as close into the bike as it would go. This caused terrible buffeting at anything over 50mph.
I then moved the fairing so it was set in the furthest position from the bike. This improved things a fair bit and was good for up to 70mph.
Now i've moved the fairing about half way back toward the bike on the lower clamps which tilts the screen even futher away from you creating a bigger air pocket. This has improved things further and i'm good up to 80mph.
I'm still tweaking, and next i plan to move the fairing back toward the bike even further on the lower clamps and see if it eliminates the buffeting entirely.

BTW: I'm 5'8" and running the 13" non-vented screen.

Thank you for the post!

I followed what you did and see similar results to yours, slight buffeting starts at 75-80 I am 6' and have the 15" shield with a low rider seat, I might attach a fork bag below fairing to see if that helps push some air as well before continuing to adjust.

Yeah, mine comes from around the sides of the fairing and up around the tank. You can put stand offs between the windshield and the fairing to allow some air pressure to come from the middle of the fairing and push some of the buffeting out.

By putting on a windshield or fairing, you are creating a low pressure area behind it... the air will rush in to fill that. I have the QD windshield, and I have the top tilted as forward as the mounts will let me. It's better, but it's not fantastic. I've tried modified fork dams like the touring's have. The lower wings are probably the best bet.

Buffeting can ruin a good bike ride...
