I guess I might as well post. I’m on Bob, 08, Fat. I have no experience with any 07 or 06, so I don’t understand a few things, like "6th isn’t any good till you hit 80, or shifting into 6th at 100 or so. Bob runs great in 6th at 55-60 mph, and will pick up well from there, not like a rocket or anything but certainly good nuff for regular traffic, and if I need to really get going I can always drop a gear or 3.At 70 up 6th is real good, nice response. I can hit 120 ok in 6th without topping out 5th. If I REALLY want to haul *** over 100 easy, I just pop out the baffles, really good 80 and up.
I can and on occasion do cruse at 115 packing the ole lady, that’s about 415 lb tween the two of us.
On those occasions turn the rear to 4 and I just put heavy duty oil in the front, wish I could do more for the suspension but don’t have the green right now.
I haven’t done anything but sit straight up so far, when I get out in the flats w no traffic I will lay down on the tank and see what’s up, but the **** stock HD speedo is only good for 120 so I will never know but that I can bust hell outa 120.
Is there a difference in the gearing from 06 07 to 08?
I only have limited upgrades, PCIII, BS A/C, V & H strait shot slip on’s.
Like I said, I can pull the baffles and the top end changes dramatically, unfortunately so does the low end-mid range. Without baffles the biggest issue I have is packin double at 70 80, slow response have to grab a gear to do much good.

Bob is fast nuff for me for now.And ALWAYS remember, HD is best, F**k the rest.

Mine hits 90-95 easily...I have no desire to go any faster and have hit 90 less times than I have fingers...on ANY public road,90 is too fast...anything above...go to a closed course...JMPO....

If I had hit the rev limiter would it not have basically shut the engine down? No it just starts popping. It's easy to hit the rev limiter in first gear from 20 MPH. Also EVO sportsters don't have rev limiters.

I have hit the rev lmt a few times with the baffles out draging, means you missed your shift and lost your opertunity, motor fails, breaks down, catch another gear but its too late. my rev is set at 6200, thats one thing i would nave prefered with the sert, if I understand corectly, you have more options with the sert, but dam they make you pay for it, i would like around 7 for those "special" moments. Maybe PCIII will come out with an upgrade some day.

i've hit approx 118mph with bob still pulling hard. would have gone faster, but the wind pulling up on my novelty helmet made me think this was fast enough. i have a buddy whose 2003 low rider runs around 125mph.
