So I'm at my minds end here. I purchased my first HD about a month ago and within the past two weeks it has given me problem on problem. It was originally throwing itself into linp mode for the TPS. I replaced and tested and all values were in spec. It would throw itself in limp mode. So I completely removed my tuner. Then it seemed fine besides running a bit lean. That night get a block away from home and ignition cuts out. Take it to the shop and ran some more wiring checks. So I have swapped the CPS, ignition coil, TPS, all with working or new units just to have the same issue. It will intermittently lose almost all power and throttle response especially in higher gears then decide to either idle rough or kill itself. This will only happen under load. All the HD manuals seem to point to just replace ECM. Can I just put in a known working one easily to test? What else am I missing here?
Are you losing lights or anything else when this happens? It sounds like an intermittent connection to the battery somewhere.
On another thread I found these as the culprits for most limp mode situations though: 1) Green clip on inner bar to the TGS, known to be faulty. 2) Could be corroded conectors on the fuel mod. behind air breather easy to check. 3) Could be a broken wire just under the shieth 1/2 to 1" up from the connector on the fuel mod. behind the air breather. 4) Could be the Throttle Grip sensor.

Not losing any lights or anything. Have tested battery voltage while running and and inspected all grounds. They are solid. I will have to check that but fuel seems to be solid all throughout. I will check the connectors for the fuel setup today after work. I may also try a fuel pressure test but all hoses on the tank and to the injectors are new.
