Ok, in trying to get a picture for you guys ( because a picture is worth a thousand words) I think I figured out what the problem is/was. First off, I'm taking a Mulligan on this one and blaming it on my "newb" status, second, when I replaced the old throttle cable with a new one, I installed exactly as I saw the old one installed, so in my defense, it was wrong to begin with.

Yellow circle is where it is/was, red circle is where it should be? Am I right or do I need to put my readers on? Motor is still hot from evening commute so I'm take the air cleaner off ( again) later and fix correctly. Thank you everyone who chimed in.
P.S. I see a hand free flashlight in my future.

At least you were man enough to admit your screw up.
Many would not and just never post again. Ever.

Never mind, I just read your post below your photo and you already figured it out. Its pretty obvious seeing the bracket uninstalled.

Thanks for posting up those pics of the bracket, in retrospect it all makes sense. I need to finish up some yard work and then take her out for a spin. As far as admitting my mistake, well, mistakes are just learning/teaching opportunities, at least that is what I tell my kids, nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully this thread helps someone else in the future.
