Evo or not?

the chrome oil filter for an EVO is 63796-77A ... not sure about the number for the black one ... your bike is an EVO ... and it is a V2, the V2 refers to the ignition timing system on the bike ... the V2 is the better system ... in an EVO most find it better to run 20w50 in the engine ... tranny and primary can run the same fluid, Formula + is a good choice ... do not fill the engine oil to the full mark on the stick, it will weep oil through the air cleaner unless an external breather has been installed ... you can get a lot of good information in the EVO section
Yeah I've had oil get pushed through the breather before on my old VStar 1100.
I like external breathers but they interfere with my ability to brake with forward controls.
I've got one on the Sportster and I had to put an extra long brake pedal on it because of the interference.

Here's a better pic. It's only got 12,000 miles on it. Just ordered $2100 worth of parts and accessories yesterday. Windshield, Engine guards Shifter/ Peg,l brake pedal Already installed. All lubes / filter, Grips / throttle lock, Head light upgrade ,Signal lights. Saddle bags H.M. ,Luggage rack And miscellaneous other maintenance stuff.

The oil pan drain was stripped. Actually the transmissionl drain.
Apparently some one used a helicoil for the repair
That's usually a one time fix and not permanent
There was basically very little thread left
So I drilled and tapped 1/64th larger and found a 5 x 20 O.S. plug.
Worked perfectly. But I ordered a new oil pan anyway for next oil change.
