Going to replace my tensioners. Can I get the top cover plate off without removing the motor? I know the tank has to be removed. I really don't want to cut the rods and use adjustables. Thanks.

I was able to get the rocker covers off without removing the motor. Also, I was able to keep the gas tank on by unbolting it and raising it slightly.

Dudepants nailed it. I use a chunk of wood (from my multiple lift shims, depending on the bike) under the rear of the tank. No pulling tank or engine.

No need to remove the engine or loosen motor mounts to do the job.

A little over 27k.
After hearing many, many comments on these I decided to replace. Appears to never be the same turnout.

What did you use to get the rear cover, left rear bolt out. The frame is too low on mine. Thanks.
