Good luck in your quest for the real Harley. I went with the V-Thunder (Comp Cams) TC-3102 when I decided it was time for cams. It seemed the closest to the Kury TC-24d cams at the time, which I had a TTS map for. Both of those cams appear to have been discontinued since then, but are apparently similar to the 57H. I absolutely love the cam. Beware it will make your exhaust thump much harder. Might be a problem if you wear a full face helmet, depending on how much your exhaust resonates. Something with a big power chamber might be like BOOM BOOM BOOM in your head.

Generally recognized that short shot exhaust sounds nice but absolutely kills low and midrange torque. It would be a shame to build a great motor and then give back all the gains with a bad choice in exhaust.

to be honest short shots don’t even sound that great either. Higher pitched than something like a good 2-1 pipe.

I had short shots before I went to a 2-1. And the sound and power difference is noticeable.

I started off with just wanting to do cams and then ventured out from there. Since it's been taking a couple weeks to get my cylinders back, I've been looking into other things to do while I have it ripped apart, changing the exhaust is one of the things i've been looking at. So that might not be an issue anymore.

Maybe a larger throttle body from HPI? https://www.horsepowerinc.net/throttle-bodies
External breather?

I would look at some head work before even thinking about the throttle body. Much, MUCH better bang for the buck, especially considering the price of the HPI units (which ARE very good units, by the way).

Maybe. HPI throttle body is around $600 and head porting with CNC is around $800. 06 heads are very good with flow. Don't need more lift, but larger valves can help some more. If I only had one I'd do the throttle body because doing the heads does you little good past small gains from enlarging the valves without replacing the throttle body. Either one has a fairly large cost though with minimal gains. Do both and you maybe get another 10 HP.

No maybe about it. As good as the late TC heads are, there's lots of room for improvement, and putting a bigger throttle body and intake on stock heads simply makes the heads the bottleneck, especially with bigger cams like the Andrews 57s. Trust me, you're NOT going to get anywhere near the gains with a throttle body that you'll get with a properly matched (for the build) porting job.
