Well, that's "good" news, at least in that the main cause could be found. Should I bother trying to drain the crank side of the case? Or just replace the oil that I remove, run it and then do a full change?

I wish I didn't have to pull the pushrods again to get the cams out, the tubes are a pita and just keep getting more and more scratched up every time I have them out.

Personally I wouldn't remove the plug, If you have a sucker you can most of it out through the crankcase scavenge hole. If trying to decide whether to pull the plug, don't know.. For 1 either way you won't get it all... The pickup passage is about 1/2 inch above the bottom of the crankcase. Me being lazy, would not dump the oil in the tank, find the problem, fix it, assemble with the current oil, start and let idle, then dump the oil..

Makes sense, I like your way of thinking

I couldn't help myself; I ordered a Feuling HP+ oil pump to match the lifters. Since I'm back in there again, and I'm working with a different budget than last time, I figure why not?

Well, no smoking gun so far. Cams were timed with the crank and to each other, all 3 O-rings were present and where they should have been, I don't know what the inside of the pump is supposed to look like, but nothing looks amiss. I did NOT install the pump and cam plate according to the manual so I may have caused an alignment issue. I'm just going to keep moving forwards, chase threads, clean up, get ready for new gaskets and O-rings since I won't have the pump until Wed. And since I scratched the living **** removing a pushrod keeper this morning, I need to wait for that to show up as well

It was there, I forgot to post this pic. I don't know what you mean by inner gerotor, but I'll get a shot with the internals out and in order if that helps?

Well inner gerotor is the red arrow. Dump it on the table.. Inspect both it and the pump where it runs.

The O ring on the pump spigot looks suspicious but it's a really crappy picture.. Typically it should be blue, brown or off yellow.. It even looks a little small. It should be the same size as the ones that go on the upper pushrod.. If it taken any kind of set, it's likely the wrong one. By set, I mean it's no longer perfectly round. The rubber part not the ring it makes.

hole-lee-****, i think you just solved the mystery. There was a 5th brown o-ring that i didn't know where it went. I posted a sided by side below and the o-ring diamemeter is significantly different. I test fit and the black one wants to fall out, the brown one has to be pressed into the groove. So the pump wasn't able to scavenge from the crank side and was dumping on the cam side!

Thank you so much! I owe you a beer!
