So yesterday I got my new Shinko on the rear. Only doing this to keep track of milage.. I'm at 31,354.
Update on the tire I'm down to the wear bars that measure 2/32nds and mileage is 34,464 so far I got 2,100 miles.. Might get another 400 by the time I swap it out . Not sure what I'm going to replace it with though .
So it's been over a week since I had the dyno session which I'm very happy with.. here's the sheet..
I did have a problem with the build yesterday though..I did a couple 1/4 mile runs on the street and I believe I collapsed lifters on the rear cylinder.. with RPM's above 2000 the motor seems to run on but noisy with decent AFR's but when below 1500 and at idle it sounds as if the rear cylinder is only running at 1/2 power.. The AFR's at idle are all over the place bouncing from 12.6-17.0 and the motor really sounds like ****.. I forgot to lower the the Rev limited after the Dyno runs..I had it up to 6700 and did hit it several times at the track and yesterday.. We also did a couple pulls to 6500 and there was no real gains after 6000..
So I'll probably be pulling down the top end and can chest this week and will need to check crank run out as well.. If I did damage the crank from drag racing I most likely will replace with an S&S 4.625" set of wheels.. If it's only the lifters I'll probably go back to my stage II heads and the Woods 888 cams..
So much for wanting more power, kinda went through this with my Evo as well.. This will most likely be the last voyage for more power..
Updating the damage..
Bent intake valve and broken front Rocker support plate.. Ordered a new plate and tensioner shoes.. Installed the Stage II heads and Woods 888 Cam.. All good.. Should be on the road in a couple weeks..
You should at least take the piston out and check it. It may not be round any more, and could even be cracked. Look for scuffing on the cylinder wall.
Check the pushrod, too...
The cylinder and piston looked great, the pushrods are perfect and not a single collapsed lifter..
With all the carbon on the valve and piston I could not see a single witness mark of any contact..
