Did you by chance dry fit it to eyeball alignment of sprockets. Just stacked there like that, that's pretty amazing it ended up with the sprockets closer then .030 or a 1/32".

Glad it sounds good. If it's out of alignment, you will hear a ticking in slow 180 turns.
It's hard to visualize how your old components face wear amounts to but if alignment looked good at assembly, I imagine that may be your .05 that put it back in alignment.
Dry fitted the new one & yes it was within specs. The old compensator wasn't out of alignment. It was showing signs of wear on the inside of the Sprocket and slide cam.

But wouldn't that have let the sprocket move inward. That face wear on the alternator rotor definitely is part of the positioning of the sprocket for alignment.

There was no face wear on the outside of alternator cover. That was inside.What you seen is how the stock cover is on the inside. No wear on the outside
