Had some V&H straight shots slip ons laying around from a previous Dyna. Decided to install them on my 09 I recently purchased. They sounded fine for the first ź mile test run, but a longer ride last evening proved them obnoxiously loud.
Rather than find some quiet baffles I did a modified lollipop mod with some old sportster shock covers (Dyna shock covers would work too). Drilled a ź hole and bolted them in at the baffle set screw point with longer bolts, lock washer and nut.
The sound is deeper and not as obnoxious. Bike runs great with the stock air cleaner and no tune. Will be getting an air cleaner and tuner eventually, but I have height adjustable shocks and with stock pipes you cant go over 12 ⅝. With the skinny straight shots Im able to run the shocks at 13 ź.
Have you noticed any performance issues with this mod? It looks like the entire pipe is blocked except for the little 1/2 inch hole you have in it.
increased low and midrange torquegoogle lollipop exhaust mod and dk customs thunder torque inserts. Im getting somewhat of the same effect with parts I had in the pile.
DKs TTIs may be more effective and I may give them I try at some point.
I tried the DK torque inserts and noticed almost zero difference. Quiet baffles in the short shots were way more effective in both sound and performance. The sound was still loud but much deeper. I switched to a V&H pro pipe and love the sound but its a big pipe and reduces right side lean especially riding 2 up.

short shots are a completely different animalall noise and and no back pressure
I wonder how a TTI would sound and perform in the pro pipe?
