Aftermarkets don't have kits that I have found yet and I want to match my existing speedometer. So bigger headache than I wanted for now, I'll just wait a bit. I do appreciate all the input from all of you here at the best forum for our rides. Thanks.
most of the tax will have three wires: power, ground, speed. The speed will go to the pink wire in the harness under your console. If it is not reading accurately then it’s likely someone has upgraded your ignition. In that case, you will have to connect to a different wire. Just find the documentation online for your ignition and it will tell you exactly what to connect. In terms of wiring difficulty, this is not hard at all. The biggest challenge would be if you had to run a new wire from the ignition up to the tach. And even that’s not difficult.

The tachometer's p/n is 67042-99. If you search Ebay for this p/n you'll find multiple sellers...
The above p/n is for the tach with a chrome trim.
P/n 68941-99 has a black trim and wil fit as well.
Some are listed at Ebay for under and around US 100

I have one on my Heritage Classic. It's a piece of cake. One tach, one bracket and two wires that are already on the tach. 1/2 hour install.

Thanks again I am looking at the double set-up Speedo and tach side by side should be plug and play, but not finding the complete kit with wiring and Tachometer. I have found quite a few Tachs. I don't want to cut or splice wiring if I don't have to. I was warned kits are probably non existent or really hard to find. I am trying to decide if I really need to add the Tach. Its going to be polished/chrome lower fork tubes or Tach. I'll figure it out

you’re looking to add an electronic gauge to your older bike. You have to. Come to grips with it. Buy a decent set of wire cutters and a good stripper. Then get a heat gun and these

It’s not as scary as you’re envisioning it to be.

Still, 140 plus the cost of the gauge, and the mounting kit.

Maybe try Koso North America and see what they have available. At least the gauge would be new.

I removed mine to clean up the handlebar area and had it installed on the forks. I can see it just fine. I might have a tach for the other side.

Polished Fork lower sliders won this round. I have the tools and info to do the gauge add, but no time right now. I have seen plug and play wiring just have to find it again.
