Bung King Riser install problem
I recently had a horrible experience with a company when buying some accessories for my new boat last summer. Simple grab bars I ordered.
handles show up, paint matches my boat perfect... But then I notice the tube of one handle is hanging off the mounting tab! so not only are the handles now different overall lengths, one looks like crap and has a pinching point and potential to cut the user. I email the company with a picture (on a saturday) I get a reply that just says "call Monday" I call Monday... no answer leave a message, get a call back later in day from the owner and he had a horrible attitude! Never once apologized and even tried to get me to just use it the way it was! he even said "Well it still works, don't it?" I said I'm not putting something with sub par fit/ finish in my BRAND NEW boat. and he said "well what do you want me to do about it?" I told him I'd like a handle that matches the other one that looks nice. he says "fine! if you're not happy with it throw it in the garbage and I'll send you another!" I say thanks and he just said "bye" and hangs up.
NOW is where it gets laughable. Not sure if this was his idea of a joke and just a " F-U" to me for not accepting poor fit/ finish, or if they really just don't care enough to quality check what they're sending out... (You'd think they'd build them in a jig preventing this issue in the first place) but I received my replacement handle IT'S EVEN WORSE than the one I complained about originally! At least the first to had the same handle tube lengths, and this replacement had the tabs welded on worse and the tube was an entirely different length! I just laughed and tossed the new one in my scrap pile and chocked it up to a lesson learned that WJR Customs sucks. Luckily the handles weren't too pricey.
So yeah, long story short... a 10 second look at the replacement part they're sending would've at least made it right. But now they get free bad press.
