I don't know what it is, but lately I've noticed anumber of threads where people are being irritated about their Dyna being looked down upon in some way.

Those threads fill up with post after post ofDyna owners talking about how great theirDynas are compared to other models, almostlike they're trying toconvince one another that Dynasare not second-rate.

It starts to look as though Dyna owners have an inferiority complex. Why does it seem to me that Dyna owners are so insecure and have to remind one another that Dynas are great?

Am I way off base here or have some of you noticed this pattern too? I'm not trying to be rude... obviously I own a Dyna and think they're great... but man it's almost as if lately I see a bunch of Dyna owners sitting around a camp fire singing koom-by-ya and drinking hot cocoa!

Butch it up a bit and ride that beast!!!

Though I was ignorant in the ways of Harley, I would buy my Super Glide again today if needed. Not another model type but a Dyna. Perhaps the Custom but probably the Super Glide.

Same thing as when I saw other Sporty owners unhappy because someone was calling it a girls bike. I do think you are right though and a lot of Dyna riders tend to be overly defensive. No reason to be. I do believe the Dyna SG to be the ultimate Harley if you are not a tourer.

I love what I love and the Dyna is it!

Don't really care what other people think. I'm happy with my Dyna and what I've done to it.I don't really fit into any catagory now. With the Spoiler, Fairing, and Bags its not stripped down enough for the Dyna guys, its too "Small" for the bagger guys, and the Softail guys hate the ugly shocks. What I do have is a good bike that fits my needs.

if someone can't tell the difference between a sporty and a dyna, then they are clearly idiots who have no business speaking about motorcycles. those are the same people that believe iron horse bikes are real choppers.

If there were only 1 perfect Harley, there would only be one model to choose from. I agree with WGB - let's stop whining and trying to please others. Yes it's annoying but some people will always find a way to be annoying whether they are trying to put your bike down to feel better about their's or saying something else. Just because it costs more doesn't make it a better bike. And, just because mine costs less, doesn't mean I couldn't have afforded the more expensive one if that's what I had wanted. For the most part, when we pay this much for a bike, no matter what the model, we all buy what we want to a certain extent. I think some of them assume we'd all want a softie and had to settle for less. We, here in this forum, know differently and that's all that should matter.

I never had a problem with this and besides, I could care less about what someone else thinks about my ride. The only opinion that matters to me is the opinion of the person who writes the check for the bike payment every month and that's me. I love my Superglide and when it's time for a new one, it will be another Superglide.

Friday night I was leaving the bar and a guy said "nice Honda". I'm pretty sure he thought he was being funny. I thought first of all that's pretty ballsy to say to some one you don't know, second of all he pulled up in a PT Cruiser, and finally it's 85 degrees where the hell is your bike. Hey what ever, I guess I would rather it be called a Sportster than a Honda.

Same here, the dealer ran my credit and I was approved for any bike in the showroom.
I went home with a Dyna.

I was asked if it was an 883 or 1200, I told them it was a 1600.

Really had a confused look.

Lets face it guys they do look like a big sporty to the untrained eye.

I can understand the confusion with a Sporty to the untrained eye. I was there not all that long ago. To me, though, it's like walking up to an overweight woman and asking when she's due. It's usually better not to say anything if you don't know what you are talking about.

With that said, confusing it with a Sportster doesn't offend me. However, confusing it with another bike and flat out putting it down because it isn'ta Softail are 2 entirely different things in my book.

For the same reasons I, and most people I've noticed, give a little biker wave to anyone else on 2 wheels when riding, no matter the make or model, I'd never put anyone else's bike down. If you are out there on 2 wheels, you're okay by me. If someone from the dyna forum puts down a Sportster because it's smaller, cheaper, or whatever, you are no better than the others that seem to want to put our dynas down.
