What I think is funny is that people seem to take this as an insult. Sportsters are cool bikes in their own right, so what does it matter if somebody thinks your bike is a Sportster? They're wrong, of course, but what's the big deal?

We Dyna riders like to b!tch about it! At least I do! Gives us something else to talk about..?..I never did confuse a Sportster witha Dyna, but I can see how it could be, maybe..
I saw a Nitetrain traded in at a Honda shop and it was advertised as a Street Bob! LOL.
Noone's confused her for a Sporty yet, but someone at the gas station the other day didsay, "Hey nice Soft Tail!" When I looked over, I saw he was riding a crotch rocket...Nope, I said, she's a Dyna. He took a closer look, and seemed a bit confused. I told him, if you see the shocks, it's not a Softy. We got to talking, and then went out for a short ride around town. Like some others have said, as long as it's a bike, who cares...
You are a good man, lesser people might have said "thanks, your Seca is pretty nice too".
At one time none of us knew the difference. But I could not help but laugh a couple of weeks ago at a dealer that a guy pointed to a night train and told his wife that it was a Dyna Softail.
Was at a dealer open house Saturday and there were hundreds of bikes. It seems anyone with a Softail thinks Dynas are Sporters. Does anyone else run into this? I just find their ignorance annoying.
They were just trying to act smug with theirself induced superiority complex and ignorance. I have been to countless rides and open houses and have never had my Street Bob confused with anything else. I used to rent Sportsters and Softtails before I bought my Dyna and never had anyone make any ridiculous comments to my face. However, here on the West Coast, more basic backyard bobbers[sm=crossbonesgif.gif] or choppers, and rat rods(for those car lovers)are considered way more cool than those 30 foot long wheelbase [sm=bling.gif]Easter Egg paint job two wheel soft-tail poser bikes you east coasters love![sm=icon_rofl.gif]
I keed, I keed!
To me I don't care if they think my bike is a sportster.... wanna race? ..... Anyways..... I tend to say actually it's a super glide custom something like a sportster with a big motor and usually after the person gets a good look at it they will start asking questions about it and end up saying that's a really nice bike man!Number 1: Most likely that personwont ask about another dyna when he see em! Number 2: I just made a friend more then likely! Number 3: I won!
