Dyna's Misunderstood
i had the same mud slung at me when i rode a sporty (when it was stock). everyone would tease and throw jabs.by the end of my time with the bike, it was slammed, raked out with 16 inch apes and suicide clutch/jockey shift and most people were in awe when i rolled up. at the end of the day you can't listen to other a-holes, you need make your bike fit your style.
Bottom line, I think all Harley's have total respect from anyone that actually knows the brand and the product line. We're giving way too much time and discussion to those that don't.
I just consider my Dyna, a Sportster on Steroids. If I were a more "petite" fellow, I would have gotten one. That Nightster looks mighty good in my opinion.
Wife wants me to get something "Bigger" so she can sit back in comfort. Thinking about up-ing to a UltraGlide Classic with a Side Car.
Isn't it those "Softail" guys that plasters the "HUGE" Harley logos in their back windows?? Go Figure!!
I bought my HD because I like the look and sound they offer, not to live the stereotypical life style, just to get out there, and have the power and look that I've come to love...If someone rides another brand/style/type of bike, they still get the wave from me. If they want to go out for a ride, my first questions are, "Where and when?" I've rode with other HD's, Honda's, Kawasaki's, Victory's, Triumph's, old ones, new ones, sporty ones, sh*tty ones, touring ones, tore down ones, it doesn't matter to me. Not everyone, including myself, starts on an HD. My first bike was a '72 Honda CB 250 in excellent shape. I loved that bike. I got a lot of good compliments about it. It just lacked the power I wanted. It started to become a love/hate relationship, and I got rid of her...Now, with my HD, I have a love/love relationship...
Just my 2 cents.
