Just looking for some opinions from the folks in the forum. I'm looking at two Bobs right now. Both vivid black (which i wanted). One is an 07 at a local dealer who i don't particularly care for (customer service is lacking). They're listing an 07 Bob at $500 off MSRP, no freight or set up and security system installed for $13,420. The 08 bike is at my another local dealer who i've bought my last two harleys from. Great guys, great service. They're listing the 08 with freight/set up and first service included for $14,265. I tried to get them to toss in some forward controls to make the difference between the two less but they didnt bite. They just said they could drop it to $14,000 since it had been demo'd and had 20 miles on it.
My initial reaction is the heck with loyalty since it's hard to pass up $600 less plus a security system vs the 08 bike. I can always buy the 07 and get it serviced elsewhere.
Thoughts? opinions? I don't know of anything radically different on the 08 that would make me want to pass up the 07 deal.
Gp to several other dealers and check prices. You might be able to do better than that. They was giving 1000 off on 07 models. The 08 models have braided cables. But I like 07 too.
I've been searching around for a while. I had my 05 FLHTCI up for sale for 2 mos and it just sold this weekend. So during that time i've been scouring the web for dealers with 07 Bobs in stock in a couple hundred mile radius of Buffalo, NY where i am. I even had a friend at the dealer which i typically work with look on their system and the only one he found was one in question at the other dealer i mentioned. I did see one a couple weeks ago nearby for $13,800. I'm sure i could find something in the mid $12k range if i looked hard enough but then the price would offset because i'd have a freight charge to get it here.
The one thing that I really dont like on the 08 is the integrated upper triple tree. The bars bolt directly to the upper tree....no risers. I'm swapping to WG trees and 21" rim so it is easier with the 07 (more parts i can use) but thats just me. I think the risers are a bit more of a traditional look. Either way good luck.
Anyone know what freight costs are like? i know lakeshore harley in illinois had a bunch of bobs at $2k off MSRP... if freight is only a couple hundred bucks thats still a great deal.
Actually i just got off the phone with Lakeshore Harley. They're selling for $11,595 (2k off MSRP) which is a great deal. However, they then add on the $290 harley freight cost and a $500 set up fee and that gets boosted to almost $12,500. Tack on a few hundred bucks for freight to get it to me and i'm only saving $500 which might not be enough for me to buy a bike sight unseen and ship it 1500 miles.
OK ......I think I know just what stealer your talking about and they are the best..... I drove from the Falls passing up two other dealers just on work of mouth onhow great you get treated there and how good the family sticks together to take care of you....Service is beyond good !!!! I bought my Bob there in January and they let me keep it in the basement until April at no charge.... You have to consider how much the 07 Bob lost in a year.....Me !!!!!....I'd go with Gownada Harley on the 08.... I dealt with Alan Hall......he knew just how to treat this 55 year old man and I've been riding for 38 of those 55 years !!!!
I here ya .
I,m in the same boat .
I,m looking at the Dyna low rider 2007 .
I found a dealer in another state abought 6 hrs from me .
I no nothing abought him good or bad .
Dealer is Essex County Harley located in NJ.
I,m in N.Y. also , and have checked on a few different dealers for prices .
I havent sold my 2004 Sportster yet but still looking for a decent deal .
My local dealer sales man didnt want to do anything a month ago .
Out of the blue I walked in and talked to the owner last Friday and they matched the deal with Essex County Harley and thru in an extra year of warranty ,($13890. out the door ) plus local taxes ..
Ive been real buisy at work , but now I,m off a couple days and the weather Succcsss...
My big thing other than service is color selection .
the 07s are getting few and far between and so are the colors .
Not sure if the Harley dealers are like the car dealers and seam to want to move more and give better deals this time of year or ???
Is Harley cutting the price so they can get rid of there 6 speed transmission woes ??
Hows everyone else feal ??
Do they usualy give better deals this time of year ?
i'd go with the '07 if the price is right. as stated before the new integrated risers look like crap. the new ac cover is ugly and i'm not a fan of the chrome belt cover.
i do however like the look of new blue denim.
the problem with a leftover is, the second you drive it off the lot, you have a 1 year old used bike. i would check how much a used 07 goes for and figure if the discount covers that loss as well.

BIG Ditto! Integrated risers? Huh? What's the point with that? Deal breaker in my opinion, stick with the '07 but shop around.
