2" Tank Lift - Does It Reduce Usable Fuel?
My question is, does the 2" tank lift reduce the amount of usable fuel? I was following a previous thread and whether usable fuel was reduced was not conclusively discussed. Can anyone advise?
Thanks,
Richard

Q: What is the effect on the fuel gauge?
A: The typical effect on the fuel gauge shall be as follows, with the tank at stock height when the gauge shows empty, you will generally get about 25 miles before you run out, with the Tank Lift installed, and the gauge shows empty, you will now have around 45 miles before you run out, most people like this feature, (it's better than showing a Âź tank of fuel left, and being empty.)

you probably won't notice it.
A few weeks ago, I neglected resetting the "A" tripmeter,
that I use to monitor fuel stop requirements.
Mymachine (06 SuperGlide)sputtered,
and I was within coasting distance
of my friendly wallet draining station.
Coasted in, topped off with 4.5 gallons,
and notched up another fifteen bux
on the little plastic interest generator.
Right now I'm at a 2 and a quarter inch tanklift,
with WG fork tubes (that's another 2.5"),
and lowered 2.5 in the rear.
I was surprised it took 4.5 gallons before it sputtered.

I don't know how low I can run it be fore the fuel light comes on, but I went 150 miles and took 3.1 gallons of gas.
