Hey ya'll...I'm currently over here in Iraq deployed...I recently ordered an 08 Fat Bob through AAFES..I couldn't order it with forward controls due to complications between the MOCO and AAFES..With that said.. I'm looking for someone that has and knows how to use a set of calipers to give me some measurements on the forward control mounting brackets!! measurements of the actual bracket that attaches them to the frame to include the two mounting holes..I run a machine shop in the Army for an aviation unit..So I can make my own brackets etc...but I can't really make them without the bike in front of me..If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it..I need accurate measurements..with a dial caliper, not a tape measure!! thanks for your input!!
Now you know that you can not be making cool gadgets on gov't. time. Why that is just not right. You know when you aren't real busy you should be polishing bullets and dipping them in SPAM, just in case.
Anyway, thanks for your service. I have a regular SG so I don't know the new dimensions for the forwards. I'm sure someone on this forum will be able to help you out. Hope to see you on the road once you get back to the States.
Hi there, HM2, USN, not currently deployed, lucky me.... \\;at least you got a deal on your bike through AAFEES..... So I got my fatbob yesterday and i was discussing your issue with my boyfriend and he \\;thinks the holes and brackets will be the same, you will just need a longer shifter linkage and brake connection? I'm going to look into it tomorrow and he even says we'll play with it and double check, I originally wanted mids, because I'm height gifted, but I'm getting used to the forward. I also got a highway bar, that won't fit with my controls, which we didn't realize til we had them all off yesterday, fun. I'll get back with ya, stay safe
