Check where the cables attach to the carb/intake. Mine got caked with dirt when riding out west. I cleaned them off and the problem went away. Be careful not to force the dirt down the sleeve.

If thumb screw was not the problem back to the dealer could get dangerous if they are not adjusted
And yes i use throttlr lock on long stretch of open highway gives that wrist a break

Part of the 1K service is to lube the cables and the twist grip. If they used too much or the wrong type and your temperatures are relatively cool that would explain why it sticks after an extended period of time of riding. The lube is probably becoming less viscous and holding the cable or twist grip in place.

Saw that someone posted having no luck with "Throttle Mate." I bought one for my Deuce at Sturgis and installed it that night...GREAT! Went back next day and got one for my wife's Fatboy and installed it that night...again GREAT! It takes a bit of trial and error to get the right balance so that it HOLDS throttleAND completely RELEASES it. But, does a great job for a fair price when you get it set right. That is our experience with Softails. I have not tried it on Super Glide yet, but I will.

I keep my simple yet effective "cruise control" to where the throttle is always a bit sticky. I prefer to ride this way no matter how short or long of a ride I'm taking.
