To me, windshields on a Dyna are like saddlebags, engine guards, and highway pegs: Bikes look better without them, but they're functional as all get-out. It really comes down to how you ride, and how much you value custom looks. Mine is a rider rather than a looker, so I have all of the above. But one of the nice things about a Dyna is its versatility, so you can load up with detachable stuff like bags and windshield (and different types of helmets) and have the best of both worlds. I often ride to the beach (3+ hours), then lose the shield for cruising the coast. I also like to ride the mountain twisties with the bike "naked" cause it's just more fun. But my windshield stays on 90% of the time, which is something I never would have believed would happen before I got this bike.

Well like I said, this thread is going to get all kinds of imput, all good and all has its points. It all comes down to what makes you feel comfortable. Think of it this way, if you had a big bagger, they have most of all the things that some say look bad on bikes, shield, engine gaurd, bags ect. I personally think that baggers look good for the purpose they are intended. In my case, I like to take longer rides and have everything that I may need depending on conditions. If it rains I prefer to have some rain gear, or if it gets cold at night and I ride long enough that it gets real cold, having a warm jacket and good gloves are just a bag away, instead of miles. If I was going to ride from bar to bar then having none of these items would be acceptable to me, otherwise known as what i call a "Bar bike". It again all comes down to what are you planning on doing, long haul or short jaunts and how comfortable you would like to be. Me personally I like to be comfortable and able to enjoy the ride, even if that means that my ride looks not as good as others. Maybe having two bikes would be the best way to go! A bagger for long haul, a true "Bobber" adn then maybe even a "Bar bike", opps, that means 3 bikes, dammit time to save some money! good luck on what ever you do!!

There's not enough choices in the poll. You should have also included:

I have one, but hate it & don't use it!

I have one & I'm trying to resolve the wind buffeting issue.

Since those choices weren't there I selected: I use mine sometimes. (meaning almost never)

I got one idea that might help some of you. Slow the @#$%#$ down and enjoy the ride. Damn you guys are haulin' A$$ out there at 70 and 80+ mph. If I gotta get there that quick, I use my cage.
? The Interstate speed limit in my state is 70MPH and 75 in the surrounding states...It's not uncommon to see speeds in excess off 85 MPH in Western Nebraska.
