Engine Guards/Crash Bars
If I wanted crach bars I'd go with the Lindby bars, they're not "so" bad looking. But shop with care, some I've seen seem really flimsy, others seem as tough as the frame. Not sure how Lindby stacks up as far as toughness but definitely unique.

Ok, I guess I must be the only one who would rather risk the damage than install crash bars [sm=yikesomg.gif]

I've never owned them, don't like 'em
and would never put them on a Dyna.
Have yet to drop a street bike so I guess
I can afford the risk by now. Form over
function for me.
Cheap insurance. You can mount highway pegs and fog lights. I have drop my bike a few times doing tight exercises. I put a little water heater hose around 'em and never got a scratch.
I bought my bike used and they were already on it along with some highway pegs mounted on them.
I've never dropped the bike and don't plan to, but last fall I would have to say it saved me. I was cruising along the backroads at night and a deer jumped out from a ditch andit's body hit the engine guard right where my foot was resting on the highway peg, I managed to keep it up. It bentthe barabout an inch back and sprained my foot but it was better than having it hit the bike/motor, I probably would have went down.
Needless to say I replaced it.
My $0.02.
