I have a 2007 FXDSE (Screamin Eagle Dyna) with the 110" engine, I recently had the Cobra speedster slash cut pipes, Cobra FI2000R tuner, and the K&N air filter upgrade installed. My question is this, on the dyno my bike is only generating about 98 rear wheel horse power, and about 114 foot pounds of torque, and it seams to be running very rich, my fuel milage went from around 50 mpg down to about 22 mpg, is this normal, what else can be done, my dealer/shop says all of the dyno numbers are a spot on for prefect match, What gives?
I am not familiar with the cobra fuel tuner. But I am pretty certain it is fairly limited in it's scope and easy to play with. I would look on cobra's site and see if they have maps or set points for your bike. And if they do not have those to give them a call. 22 mpg is a bad tune. Did your dealer give you a print out and a AFR reading? Not that that says a lot since most dyno runs are full throttle pulls.
if you had that work done by the dealer you probably paid for 2 dyno sessions like i did. i experienced the same thing, fuel milage droping to the 20s. i took it in and they told me i never did a folow up tune. i told the tech that no one ever told me i needed one. he said, well you already paid for it. so they did the folow up tune and it fixed the problem. i was pissed that they "conveniently" didnt mention that i paid for 2 dyno tunes.
Definately need a retune by a competent tuner. I've lost some MPG since I started tweaking my Power Commander, but I went from the 50 mpg mark only to high 30's mpg, and the plugs don't look too bad. I still think it may be a little fat, still searching for the "perfect MAP".
thanks for everyones response to this, I did get the dyno printout for this setting, it shows 98.3 rwhp at 3800rpm, 114.1 lbs of torque at 4900rpm and a fuel air ratio of 13.0% air, this of course is in the exhaust, but it still runs rich, I only paid for the 1 dyno sesion, (1/2 hour labor) I thought after I went back to the dealer and had the air filter upgrade installed it would help, so far no such luck, I am now being told it is in the way I ride, (wtfo). now I am wondering if there are ant ignition upgrades that I can purchase to prehaps increase the fire power to the plugs. I am thinking that if I can burn more of the fuel maybe it will take less fuel to get where I am going.

Quick answer to your higher voltage spark is no. It is already high and very good and uses ION sensing for knock detection. You can purchase a different controller like a PCIII, Tmax, DTT TCFI IID and maybe some others that have ignition mapping possible to change timing. Your bike is a basic stage 1 though be it a SE 110 engine instead of the regular 96 but a call to Cobra should get you something to plug into your unit to see if it is better then what the dealer did.
And 13:1 ratio is rich, a lot use it on WOT though, not me but a alot. Did your dealer do a AFR reading at a crusing speed on the dyno? I bet not.
Seriously call Cobra, sounds like the dealer tuner isn't qualified.
An afr of 13.0 is pretty rich. I believe an ideal tune would be around 13.7 and look pretty flat across the rev range, not just wfo. Your economy is poor but that's some serious power at the rear wheel. Have you pulled the plugs (just a rough indicator) and how is it on decel?
