Default tach on FatBob

Thinking about a tach on the FatBob. I think I'd like the handlebar mount style but for some reason (too new?) the Harley accessories never specs the FatBob on any of their tachs. I've already found out the hard way that when they mention "fits o6 & up Dynas" it doesn't necessarily include the FB. Has anyone added a tach to a FB & which one?

I've wondered about those $500 units in the catalog and asked here if anyone knew if they would work on the Fat Bob, the response from the dealer was "it should", but wasn't sure since nobody had tried. Would be nice to know if that worked since it fits right into the speedo area and I don't have to run any more wires up the bar.

Yeah, I had them put the speedo/tach combo on my Fat Bob. They had to call Harley, and the answer they got was that there was NO change from '07 to '08. So if it says fits '07 and up, then you are safe. I chose the brushed aluminum, but I am thinking I should have done the black with the color changing option...

The black with color is the one I am thinking of going with; nice to know it worked on your setup. Did the dealer install it for you?

Yes they did. But from what I understand they are direct plug in and go, and as I got the bike with no miles on it, I could have done it myself... They would have to transfer your milage.

Check these guys out - since you've got individual risers it ought to work for the Fat Bob, think they are a forum sponsor:

Changed over to individual risers (3") on my street bob and am planning on installing one of these tachs some day.

Very nice. Anyone know offhand if I need the 1" or 1.5" for the Fat Bob bars? That is can mount unsidedown might be nice, not sure I want it sticking upwards....

I've heard (at least for the Softail) that after installation of the HD combo, the odometer display is always on and the clock doesn't function.

I put a Dakota Digital combo speedo/tach on my Fatboy and it was true plug & play. 5 minute install.
