hello, everyone I hear some negative things on here at times regarding screamin eagle mufflers,is ther a problem? i am thinking of gettin a set for my 08 FXDC.
I have a set of the old style SEI on my 06' and I am currently looking for something louder. they have a bit more rumble than stock, but I don't really recommend them. not a big fan of the look either.
There aren't any technical problems that I know of. There are just some of us that don't think they really do that much from a sound or performance perspective over stock to justify the cost. But there are some that are perfectly happy with them. Do what you want and not what the rest of us think.
Robert.... those Mufflers and the S.E. A/C along with the download for them, have produced some ofDecent numbers... Do some research and you'll see....
i bought the SE's (not SEII's) for my 07 bob... waaaaaaaaaay toooooooo quiet for the $300 pricetag. ended up spending $125 for DynoPowers from JPCycles, and they sound sweeeeeet to me. just my 2cents.
My brother will have a set of SEs for sale for a reasonable price soon as he is putting Rush mufflers on his street bob. I took the packing out of his so they are a lot better than the way they came....Still a little quiet for my taste, he is wanting slash downs instead of the slash out. I am going with Rush slash outs on by FatBob because I dont care for the SE Mufler available for my bike.
Robert, Evenin' from VaBch.. bought my 07 Dyna Low Rider last March... made purchase almost entirely online... initially asked dealer to instal S/E Slip-Ons, and Stage One Air... he called me back and said to date, every customer they had that had requested the S/E's were unhappy upon delivery... said they sounded not much different than stock.. Sooo.. his recommendation was either mucho bucks for V&H slipons or better yet RUSH Slip-ons for alot less and just as much quality and sound... I took his recommendation andcould not be happier... especially when my riding buddy said he liked the look and sound better than his V&H's... good luck with your choice and most importantly safe, DEFENSIVE riding... Ed H.
