It's done on all of the Wide Glides. The headlamp shell is bolted through the lower triple clamp and I don't see any reason that you couldn't do that with a Low Rider or Superglide, although you'd have to find just the right headlamp bucket to fit between the the fork tubes and look good. Could be an interesting look.

I think it looks better mounted higher.
Mine came mountrd to the bottom and I fabbed a bracket to raise it up to where a " regular" one might be.

i did this on my fxd. I was told I could just drill a hole in my bottom tree and mount a bottom mount headlight.

I didn't like that idea so I bought a bottom tree, headlight and chrome cover to cover up the top mounting holes (all stock on a sporty custom)

I like the end result.

Hacksaw,

That's exactly what I'm looking for.
I'll check the sporty parts section.

BTW- Nice scoot. What type of bars do you have?

I think I may be able to find all the part numbers if I did through my papers if you want them.

(I don't own this bike anymore...unfortunately) The bars were Wild 1 chubbys I think they were 8" rise.

lower triple tree (xl custom) 45561-87
headlight (xl custom) 67881-96a
headlight mount (xl custom) 67919-96
chrome cover-upper triple tree 67861-96

that should be all you need.

you're probably looking at approx $500-600 for the parts.

I took the wheel and fender off my superglide, drilled 1 hole, made sure it was close to dcenter, went a little bit oversize to be sure, and mounts the XL custom h/l and standoff. My bike is an 02,i did it back then and it's been fine for 80,000 miles.I also used the chrome top tree cover as well.I went a bit oversize on the hole,so i'd have room to adjust it if need be.I also used a wide trim ring on the headlight, and it resembles a custom teardrop .easy and quick mod.
