Heres what I did. Took an 8 foot long bar of 1 inch square stock and rammed it thought the muffler. Viola', punched out muffs. Sounded a heck of allot better than I thought.

Generally cutting and drilling holes in pipes is a bad idea. I have seen guys on Jap bikes doing this as to "make it sould like a harley" but is all actuality, it just sounds like a pipe with a hole in it. Secondly, there can be problems with your fuel mixture after doing this, resulting in a need to recalibrate the EFI. Smart thing to do is to get a good set of slip ons and have the dealer run a simple dyno test.

Shove some baffles in the ends and some torque cones up front and your good to go.

Its worth it to wait, I drilled holes in my stockers and It sounded...like I drilled holes in them. Just hold out and get pipes you want, its better to have stock ones than crappy stock ones imo.

oh, yeah I took my mufflers off when I was doing this and started up the bike for a second with just the headers on...LOL, then I knew I had to get louder new pipes. hah.
