I've got the HD super sport quick release. It's not that noticeable looks wise, but I rarely take it off now, works great. I think there is less "wind pushing" you around because you are more aerodynamic with the shield, plus being a WG it is slanted more.
I just ordered the Memphis Shades Rio Grande windshield last week for my bike and it is supposed to be here this Friday. I think it's one of the best looking windshields, on a Street Bob anyways. This pic isn't my bike, it is TwoFish's. I saw this pic of his bike and that is what sold me on the Rio Grande windshield.
So hey Pig, You had to order the mounting hardware seperate with the shield huh?.............just from what I could figure out from the web site, So how much total....hardware and shield and all?
I got the HD quick release windhield when I bought the bike. It clamps around the front forks so I can slide it up and down a few inches. I run with it as low as it will go and just look over the top. My face shield over laps it by a couple of inches. I don't ride anywhere without it. Here in Oregon we have a lot of dump trucks, logging trucks, hay trucks, livestock trucks, etc., etc plus a lot of loose gravel and a lot of rain. We have enough to worry abouton the open road without worrying about getting something in the face.
I have the small windvest on my WG and it usually stays on, only two bolts and it's off.
Ditto on the WindVest, don't even bother to take mine off anymore and yeah,it works fine on road trips. Takes the big blast off the chest and still looks good. I've made plenty of seven/eight hundred mile runs in a day with mine.

The total through Cycle Spot for the windshield, mounting hardware and shipping was $152.91
This is what I bought and though the hardware is cheap, so is the price overall ($120). As far as function, it's great and I never take it off anymore. National Cycle
