I was just wondering if anyone has had any trouble with there dealer because they have the PCIII rather then the SERT? Has anyone had any problems with the dealer with the warranty on there bike because they have the PCIII? My dad had this problem a sensor went bad bike didn't run right backfired andhard to start. They found some condsation where the factory harness and the PCIII plug into each other. There four he had to pay for the sensor and the labor to put it in. Then they told him next time he washes his bike to take off the seat and stuff a plastic bag around all electrical stuff.
That type of problem would be an easy one for the MoCo to deny. He needs to put some dielectric grease in that connector or there will be moisture intrusion. It's not about SERT vs PCIII. The SERT is not installed in the system and the PCIII is.
is he running it thru the car wash or what? problem with any of the after market tuners is that they all can void the warranty. best to remove them when going to dealer. IMO - any excuse not to cover something and they will - er, won't - you know what i mean
I'm sure glad we don't have any dealer problem like that at all in my area. On the contrary, they're very customer oriented, both in service and sales.
Kind of depends on the dealership. Some will say that it will affect the warranty and others will install the PC III or the SERT and will not give you any static about the warranty on the bike. Ask the dealership and see what their take is on the PC III or the SERT, and yes I am aware of the Magnuson Moss act. (If the failure or damage can be directly connected to the non OEM equipment then they do not have to warranty the repair.) Some dealerships have been known to take care of the problem no matter what, and others have been known to try and fight it all the way.
